Courtyard Maintenance
Garden Maintenance:
Maintenance after the creation of a garden prevents things getting out of control. While we design for you to have the ability to keep up with a low maintenance garden, times may come when you feel you need a little help with pruning, weeding and many basic aspects of keeping your garden in tip top shape.
We offer ongoing maintenance for many, including NDIS clients or one off clean ups.

Paving:
Paving always plays an important role in a small garden. It visually ties it all together.
In this case the western facing façade of a townhouse used crush rock and then a sand base to support the pathway from the front gate to the front door. To add asymmetry and interest, another raised paving area to the left creates an “Outdoor room”, whereas the path to the right leads the eye to the driveway. Seen here in it’s early stages, one can see where the garden was to be developed days after the paving was completed.

Pergola Shading:
This Crab apple was planted in front of a bedroom window that faces west.
The Arthropodium ‘matapouri bay’ at the base of the Crab Apple tree flourishes very well in the shade.
In summer, the leaves of the Crab Apple protect the window from the hot western late afternoon sun. In winter with the tree being deciduous, it allows the cooler winter sun’s rays into the room to help moderate the internal temperature.
This photo, demonstrates the beauty of it’s flowers in Spring. We built the pergola also to protect the western side of the glass sliding doors of the family room and put laserlite corrugation sheets on top to reflect the UV rays. All laserlite products are designed to ensure comfort and safety for outdoor living by minimising glare and protecting from 99.9% of harmful UV rays.
